Vacation: Fishing

We spent last week vacationing with the family in Minocqua WI. We stayed in a small cabin on the lake and had tons of fun.
First post has got to be about fishing. The lake we were on was loaded with pan fish and small bass. Pretty much anywhere you threw a worm you could catch endless fish. It was really good fun Hunter and kept his attention since he could keep catching fish. Adam even caught 3 fish in a row on an empty red hook alone!!
This is Hunter with his very first catch!! It did not take long and he would catch one and say "more fishies!" "Catch another one!" He also kept saying cute things to the fish like "so sweet" or "so nice." He'd say it in his little cute voice. Then he'd catch really small ones that were "baby fishies" and then they became "Aidan fishies." Bigger ones would be "momma & dada fishies." He'd reel them in and say "fighting hard!" He got excited everytime we pulled one in and as soon as we did he'd want to catch another.

Lookin' cute in the boat. He did really well in the boat and loved going "faster, faster" with the wind blowing in his face. He really lasted much longer and better than I think we anticipated.
Daddy with a fish. ** I'll put a disclaimer for Adam's sake that while the fishing was good for Hunter it was not good for Adam. We did catch lots of small stuff but nothing big or exciting for Adam... much to his dismay!! **
Hunter holding a fish. This was a mistake Mommy made because moments later it resulted in the hook in his thumb and a meltdown in the boat. Ooops!! Nothing a bandaid, juice & some cookies didn't remedy!



I'm pretty sure Hunter's little spiderman pole pulled in more fish than any other. Lots of fun for his first fishing trip!
