63.4 inches..... Really??

This was the scene from our windows yesterday morning. The snow was so thick and heavy that the pictures don't really do it justice. With the snow yesterday we are now tied with the record for the most snow in a winter ever... 63.4 inches this winter! So when I say it's felt like a long winter... I'm not kidding. This is for those of you in warmer and sunnier places (be thankful!) This winter has been crazy!! And more snow supposed to come tonight and tomorrow : ( It's almost March can't we please be done soon!! The snow foiled our plans to get out yesterday again... another snow day... they are getting really tiring! Hunter came down with his 1st cold of the winter yesterday too. Very stuffy and snotty. I was worried about another ear infection but I think he's doing better today so hopefully it was just a short-lived nasty cold. It's so sad when he's sick.... and when his nose is runny it's the worst. He can fight me off like a little ninja when I try to come at him with a tissue.
So for now I dream of warmer weather, sunny days, flip-flops and shorts and nice long walks with warm breezes..... ahhhhhh. Spring really can't come soon enough!!

Words

Hunter is quite the chatterbox. He always wakes up and is talking right away... "duck, hat, book"... pointing to all his favorites in his room. He has a few new words that took a little interpretting to figure out what he meant. He says "brwee" (ryhmes with me) this is his new favorite word and it means he wants his sippy cup specifically with juice in it, not milk! Adam thinks he's saying cup, he can't say his "c's".... maybe? I think it could be juice or please. Whatever it is, when he starts saying it, the kid wants his juice! Other funny words are "gock" this is a little easier, means sock. He loves taking his socks off and saying "gock" Can't say his "s's" yet either. He also is woofing like a dog now when you ask what a doggy says. He woofs under his breathe. It's pretty funny. I got some good video of him the other day saying lots of his words, I just have to figure out how to load video now too.

Sweet Sleep

So if you followed any of my posts before you know that our sweet little boy did not like to sleep thru the night or take very long naps ever. We FINALLY got him sleeping thru the nights pretty regularly a little over a month ago. Yea!! He still has some nights he wakes up but only will wake up once a night versus 2 or 3 times before. I feel like a can manage once a night occasionally it really doesn't seem that bad. He does wake up pretty early (5:45 this morning) and did not go back to sleep. Most days he wakes up between 6:30 & 7. So I feel like we are doing much better at nights.
Naps were the next challenge. I was about to give up on him taking 2 naps a day. He would only take a morning nap for about 1-1.5 hrs if I was lucky, and would not take another nap. Now he's decided he needs 2 naps a day and is sleeping in the morning for around 1 hr. and then again in the afternoon for about 1.5 hrs. And the best part is he's been falling asleep on his own and pretty quickly for his naps. I haven't had to go back in, which before I did often. I just lay him down and he'll talk and make some noise for a little bit and then fall asleep!! It's been so nice! We just had 1 day last week where he wouldn't take an afternoon nap but every other day he's done great. I think for one thing he's been getting up a little early so then he's ready for his 1st nap early. I also think he's been growing lately and needs the sleep and he's just so active lately running around that he's wearing himself out.
Ok this just turned into a really long thing about his sleep..... it's just such a nice a change for me
