18 Months

We had Hunter's 18 month check-up yesterday. A little early because our Dr. is gone the last half of June. He tipped the scales at 25.2 pounds and jumped from the 20-30% in weight to the 50%. Gained almost 2.5 pounds in the past 3 months! His height is also in the 50% percentile, I can't remember exactly what but he grew about 1.25 inches in the past 3 months. Head still hovering in the 75%. He of course is doing great. The doctor asked how many words and I said I stopped counting. At 15 months he had about 35 and I figured he's added at least 10 since then. Some of them include car, cracker, please (peez), NO and out. He uses the last one a lot since he loves going outside. My only concern was about allergies. He's had something bothering him for awhile now acting like allergies of some kind. Red eyes, runny nose, itchy head.... not terrible but sometimes it does flare up. I figured it's something outside bothering him. The Dr. confirmed it probably is and said to keep him off the grass (yeah right.) He also said we could give him Dimetapp. So I bought some and we'll try it when gets sniffy.

Some things to remember at 18 months...
*He's a happy, very social little boy. He loves waving at new people, hi & bye. He loves when I take him new places. Even the Dr's. office. He looks around and sees other babies and toys and just smiles and gets so excited. At church on Sunday he walks in and sees lady and just starts waving away... he did it again with another girl as we walked down the hall. I tell him what a little social butterfly you are!!
*He's a little helper. He likes to unload the dishwasher (we already broke a plate) he especially likes handing me silver wear, he holds them over his head and if I don't get there in time he drops them and grabs another piece. He loves praise and will clap and cheer for himself when he does something good.
*He does have a good appetite. Favorites include juice, yogurt, mac & cheese & CHEESE!
*He's a copycat. He'll copy noises, sounds, actions..... He watches you do something once and he'll try it. He hears our neighbors cows mooing and he always moos back at them.
*He'll put about anything up to his ear like it's a phone and say "hi" (sounds like "aye!") This includes macaroni and cheese puffs.
*He understands so much of what we say to him now. Go outside, go bye-bye, let's changed your diaper, brush your teeth, are you hungry........ the list goes on...
*Loves Sesame Street, Wonder Pets and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.... this movie is from 1977. I DVR'd it one day and he loves it so much now. He's funny watching TV, he climbs up on the couch and sits between the pillows and watches like a big boy. He also smiles and gets so excited at some parts.
*He'll attempt to climb anything!
*He's been sleeping thru the night very well, with a few exceptions, for the past few months. Also, only taking 1 nap a day for awhile now but usually falls asleep pretty easy both for his nap and at night!

This got long...Just a few highlights at 18 months, the list could go on. He is a very happy little boy and we feel very blessed to have such a healthy, happy baby!!
