Hunter loves running around outside and one of his newest favorite outdoor activities is looking for frogs (really toads... but we call them frogs.) He actually calls them "
pogs" and he gets so excited to find one. Lucky for us they are everywhere this year, must be due to the very wet year we've had. Lots and lots of little ones and some big ones too. He has quickly learned that to find frogs you flip over rocks, boards, sticks and he knows where we usually find them and loves checking those spots. He's not afraid to poke at them and screams with delight and jumps around when they try to hop away.
Daddy's holding a little frog in this picture for Hunter to squeal at.

Looking under rocks for any "
pogs."

Daddy and Hunter checking a popular frog hang-out in my flowers. Hunter found a big one here by himself one day and was SO excited!

We put one in a bowl for him to watch and he just loves it.

There's also butterflies everywhere right now and Hunter loves trying to chase them around too. He calls butterflies "
bies." This morning we had
a really big, beautiful butterfly fluttering around my flowers. It stayed pretty close and just kept coming back to the flowers.

You can see how excited he is. He likes to watch it fly around and come back.

Another outdoor fave lately is finding dandelions that have gone to seed. Adam started this with him one day and he loves it. He sees one and runs to pick it and then gets his little pointy finger up by his face and looks and looks for another. When he sees another he says "more" and runs to get it. He runs around the yard saying "more, more." We do this at least twice a day.

He's carrying his baseball around in this picture. He loves finding other little
treasures like
smooth rocks or walnuts or something else round and he'll carry those around all day too. I can usually barely pry whatever it is out of his hand before we go back inside.
So that's our outdoor adventures these days. Luckily Mommy is not really bothered by frogs and will help look for them and catch them. Snakes now.... I leave that up to Daddy!!

Ooh, can we come "pog" hunting someday? I think Gabe would love that. And maybe Auntie Jamie could pick them up for him. :-) I think Hunter is going to love the outdoors, just like his mommy and daddy! So cute. Love all your flowers BTW!
I love that Hunter is becoming quite the outdoors man. Considering the childhood we had its not a big surprise. Now just yell, "Buffalo Stampede" shove him down between two round bales for about a half hour, and then after all that fun and excitement, teach Hunter how to play Indian Jones w/ a curled up rubber snake for his whip.
Ah those were the days. (:
Your flowers are gorgeous.
